Infinity Ward shows us a demo in which a lot of questions and doubts were answered and Infinite Warfare is a CoD game as much as Modern Warfare is.
Many hated Call of Duty: Warfare Infinite, we know; the official trailer does not lie. Apparently, much of the hate was based on the player Call of Duty is very particular and seems to favor this franchise for his style of gameplay, yes, but also for their real bases. Since its inception, Call of Duty revolved around realistic scenarios represent war and military situations. In fact, as an attempt to connect with the brutality of battle on the French front during World War II, then the series moved forward in time and was born this great success story.
Now, faced the prospect of having to repel robotic enemies in space, players went wild. Why? I guess the fact of losing realism and try to fill the void with science fiction scenarios, laser weapons and sparks instead of blood and entrails terrified them, because that’s what distinguished Call of Duty for the vast majority of current shooters. If you are one of those players and you fear this happening with Infinite Warfare, let me assure you that your fears are unfounded and spatial scenario does not destroy Call of Duty.
YES, THIS IS QUITE REAL. OR NOT?
First of all, we are talking about Infinity Ward, a study whose commitment to represent the military scenarios in detail has us firsthand. Just remember that a few years ago we interviewed a soldier who was acting as “consultant dog.” His job was basically to ensure that interactions with canine units was as attached to reality in Call of Duty: Ghosts, they said, Infinite Warfare will be no different.
When analyzing the demo we saw, we could see the old CoD in every detail and in each of the situations presented. The demo began in Genoa, during an attack that threatens to destroy the city and in which the developer faced waves of enemies in an attempt to reach the top of a nearby hill to stop the attack hitting directly at its source. This source was orbiting Earth, so, when you reach the hill, the character boarded a ship and left the Earth’s atmosphere.
In this sequence off it was clear what we already mentioned: Infinite Warfare remains Call of Duty; it is still a serious game that focuses on the details and convey a realistic experience. Why do I say? Input, the ship was a kind of game, with fuel tanks developed to generate the force required to accelerate to more than 11 kilometers per second, the minimum speed required to break the force of attraction of the Earth. During this promotion, these tanks were empty, which is very realistic and consistent with the scenario proposed by the developer. And how can they be so sure? At the moment, they could not mention names or acronyms, but Infinity Ward assured us that have worked with several space agencies and various military units and navy in order to ensure that the scenarios, situations and technology are realistic and well used.
“The aircraft carrier is the carrier demo … more detailed and realistic aircraft ever made in a game … even though it is a spaceship.” He said one of the developers. And it makes sense. Small ships are not long range, when much can go into orbit and stay in space for some time, but for exploration or travel longer depend on the carrier. Here’s how this works in Modern Warfare: the technology is more advanced, yes, but still based on the current, projected into the future technology. You will not see lasers or super agents such as Destiny here.
