The Astro A50 Review will provide you with all the details and specs to make your decision to purchase.
Harware
First lets talk about the ergonomics of the Astro A50 which they have improved from the previous A40. The Headset is solid black with adjustable for any head size along with padding which you can actually fit your ears inside the earcups. All the controllers that you need to function the Astros A50 is at the tips of your fingers, from controlling the game volume and chat volume is right there at the tip of your fingers. Now what is not too simple is the way you will need to synch the headset with the base which is not too effective and practical at all but you can see more about that in the video review above.
wireless
Astros for a while has been declaring that their headset A50 is a true wireless gaming headset, however, technically that is not true as you will need a audio cable to actually connect to your headset and xbox 360 controller to be able to chat with your friends online, which defeats the purpose of being 100% wireless. Yes you can hear the gaming volume wireless but you still need a cable to speak to others through the chatting, so Astro A50 are not truly wireless as they say they are.
Innovation
The Astro A50 innovation lacked some creativity along with innovation. I know they are wireless but having a cable hanging from your earcup defeats the purpose. The one thing that I do like about these headset is that you can flip your mic up and the mic mutes it self and is really cool due to that is there and easy to do so. Is very disappointing that the A50 and A40 look almost identical and looks like you are only paying for the mic. The headset is able to work for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Sound
The Astro A50 sound is great and I can’t really point anything bad about their sound as it gives you a beautiful sound with your ears resting inse the earcups. The Headset comes with 3 EQ settings that let you listen to music, movies and lets you play your games with the most detail sounds. These headset is great for gaming online or even tournaments due to their sound as you are able to hear steps and small details to give you the edge.
Price cost
Now these gaming headset are going for $299 which are overprice due to that they are not true wireless and the design is almost the same from the A40. If It were upto me i would go for the Astro A40 and same myself $50. One thing that I want to mention is that you expect the headset to work out of the box but unfortunately is not the case as you will need to update the drivers first before even using the headset.
GamerFuzion is giving the Astro A50 a 4.1 out of 5. Please see the video review above to get more details, tips and hints about how use the Astro A50 to the max.
