I am taking some time by testing the 720+ 7.1 Surround Tritton gaming headset, a multi format/use Gaming Headset with support for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 led the market for video game enthusiasts . There is tough competition in the gaming headset market , but Tritton have done everything possible in the list of features with this one, so it will be interesting to see how well it performed under close inspection .
Tritton have been on the market since 2000 , which makes everything from headphones to the external video card technology , just until they were taken under the brand MadCatz . They kept the name but now Tritton is sound brand MadCatz game .
It’s easy to spot a Tritton headset with high contrast characteristics colous , strong design and premium quality . Let’s start by taking a closer look at the+ 720 surround sound headphones and see if they hold at the level of style and quality Tritton.
HUB
Out of the box you can see that the headset is wired to the controller line with the cable already wired also. The cable is 12 feet long, which should give you plenty of space to relax and unwind. The cable feels durable but a good bit of twisted wire would not have gone to waste, even if only one side of things. At the end of the cable is custom-connection for connecting the headphones to the hub included.
The hub is a one piece unit and simple enough to use. It comes fitted with a volume and power control, headset mode and a headset output socket on the front. Comes in a great nice white glossy finish and has a nice sexy look to it.
HEADSET
The Headset is very noticeable as is in a white finish with TRITTON name across the Top with the T on the left and right side of the ears.
Each side of the handset comes with a reciprocating simple extension to help you find the perfect fit for you head. Each handset comes with good grades, it helps to get a good fit over the ears and keeps everything safe and comfortable on the head. Ear cup comes with a foam filled leather padding and a soft fabric backing that covers each of the drivers and gives you the great comfort.
The in-line remote control device is hard wired on the headset cable and comes packed with all the important features with a white finish. It has a separate volume controls for game and chat, SVM and microphone mute which is very easy to access them.
One of the best features of this system is the base unit, the handset is connected to the front port, but the optical device is connected to the rear, making this headset compatible with almost any audio device with optical output. It is also small enough to sit next to the console or behind your TV without causing too much pain. We recommend you get a ticker optical cable as it will give you a better sound overall.
MICROPHONE
The microphone is completely removable, perfect for when its only single player game or watching a movie and listening to some tunes. You can also use it to chat with others and the sound is clear and when you are playing Black Ops 2 you are able to communicate with your team mates with no interference.
PERFORMANCE
Proof of this headset is a bit complicated, but only because it offers such a wide range of devices that it supports with and with difference audio settings with EQ to keep me busy for hours. When setting up all the components to use the Tritton headset along with Black Ops 2 multiplayer it took less than five minutes and I was on my way to a nice multiplayer match.
What impressed my about The Tritton 720+ was the 50mm drivers don’t disapoint with their power output and frequency range. The level of bass that can be produced is very impressive and completely distortion free and giving you that 3D audio sound to enjoy each moment and give you the advantage over your competition. When using the gaming headset with Black Ops 2 or Borderlands 2 it provided me with a sound quality that empowered my gaming and allowed me to feel when someone was coming next to me or behind me and I was able to survive longer in the multiplayer mode.
Movie and Music sounded great and the different levels of each sounds were appreciated, making the Tritton 720+ a great headset too.
Tritton has define a style, with its latest range of headphones, something that shines through everything from the detonator to Warhead, with strong design, high-contrast colors, hard high quality feel and design very threatening in some cases, Tritton 720+ is one of the most attractive headphones on the market at this time. The white high glossy finish makes the gaming headset feel more expensive that what it is and overall is a superb gaming headset.
