After several months of internal search, Microsoft announced today, Tuesday February 4 that its Board of Directors elected Satya Nadella as the new CEO of the company. The change is effective from today, so Steve Ballmer finally stepping down after leading the company for over 14 years.
Nadella, born Hyderabad, India, is 46 years old, was trained as an electrical engineer at the University of Mangalore in your country, and then migrate to the United States, where he studied engineering in computer science at the University of Wisconsin. He began his career as an engineer at Sun Microsystems and at age 24 he began his journey by Microsoft when Bill Gates still running the company.
Nadella was responsible for the transformation of the official search engine of the company when it went from Windows Live Search to Bing, and SkyDrive storage service, which now bears the name OneDrive. He was also responsible for the strategy cloud solutions and business services, which is currently the focus of company revenues.
