After several sites specializing in video games will report this February 9th possibly Shadow Realms had been canceled, Jeff Hickman, CEO of the studio behind the game, BioWare Austin, came to confirm the news and give an explanation behind this move.
“We have taken the decision not to proceed with the development of Shadow Realms . Although the team did a great job on the concept of the game and we had great feedback from our fans at various events, right now there are other projects for the studio during this and the coming years. We have a talented team here in Austin and are excited by the new family games BioWare, “said Hickman.
And apparently, now BioWare wants to focus more on other titles such as Mass Effect 4 and make improvements toDragon Age: Inquisition , while the division in Austin bet all for Star Wars: The Old Republic , and who wish to expand the game world; these plans will be announced in the coming weeks.
Shadow Realms would be exclusively for PC that would have cooperative gameplay for up to 4 people, who would face another player take the role of an enemy who would control every aspect of the game. In addition, the title would episodes, much like making Telltale Games with their proposals.
