Metro Last Light: Tested with 18 different graphics cards in which includes Nvidia, Radeon HD and others.
As Metro Last Light was released this week and many gamers owning the game on consoles. The performance test of the new game Metro Last Light with 18 different graphics cards, both Nvidia and AMD, the current and previous generation, including the new Radeon HD 7990 and GTX 690, both starring in a duel on the very top closely followed by the GTX Titan and many others to show us what graphic card is good to use on your PC if you don’t have a good one. Lets take a look at the charts below.
The tests were performed with an Intel Core i7-3960X overclocked to 4.6Ghz on a motherboard MSI Big Bang XPower II (Intel X79), 8Gb Corsair DDR3-1600 RAM Mhz and using Windows 7 x64 SP1 Forceware 320.14 WHQL drivers for NVIDIA and Catalyst 13.5 Beta 2 for AMD graphics. Both versions are the best drivers for Crysis 3.
The tests were conducted with 18 graphics cards using the benchmark utility that comes with its own Metro Last Light with graphics options to maximum (1920 x 1200, DX11, Very High Quality and in resolution 2560 x 1440).
The results of this test are quite enlightening regarding graphics cards capable of running this game at a decent FPS (above 40 FPS the game experience is good). However, the guys at Guru3D have also done a test measuring the frame times as we explain the other day . The result is as follows, comparing with Titan GTX Radeon HD 7970 Ghz Edition.
It seems that AMD has done a great job fixing the micro stuttering enough suffering their graphs and their multi GPU CrossFireX. However, the difference with the GTX690 is evident, as the Radeon HD 7990 has many more jumps and variations. Let me know what type of graphic card you are running on your PC and which one you would love to have.
