In a recent interview, the creative director of BioWare, Marc Walters revealed that Mass Effect: Andromeda will not be the beginning of a new trilogy, and explained that this is because the structure of the game is different titles featuring Commander Shepard.
According to the developer, in Andromeda we will accompany Ryder, the new protagonist, since he is a rookie soldier into a hero, while Shepard met when he already had a great reputation in the universe of Mass Effect .
“We want the story to feel full at the end , ” Walters said. “In the universe there are more things to explore, and we also want to do that, but [ Andromeda ] feel as an independent story.”
Naturally, the creator refused to share details about the endgame, but confirmed that the entire campaign can be played offline, and that the crew members and colleagues can not die. He also mentioned that Mass Effect has room for a cooperative campaign, but did not reveal if Andromeda will have this feature.
