Several launches in recent years Ubisoft share several game mechanics, however, it seems that Watch Dogs 2 will be somewhat different. In a chat with Eurogamer, Jonathan Morin, creative director of the project, explained that present a progression system that will move away to the formula of Ubisoft.
As you know, from the first Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft several games have based their progression system variants synchronization towers, mechanics in which players must climb giant structures to see what awaits them ahead. Once the player reaches the tip, missions and important places are unlocked, allowing progress in history.
“It’s not a game where you open your map and everything is there. No towers. Simply must explore the world, “said Morin.
Thus, unlike games like Far Cry, The Crew and the first Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2 does not require the player to move in certain areas to complete missions available. Instead the game will focus on the number of followers that has the protagonist, Marcus Holloway.
“Players start with a few followers in [hacking group] DedSec, but pretty soon you realise you’re going to need more if you want to pull off big operations. So you start free-roaming,” Morin explained.
What do you think? Do you think it was necessary that Ubisoft experiment with a new progression system
