50 million copies in print, guarantee the success of this second novel of the “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins, who hopes to also wipe our screens on the month of November 2013. The first installment of The Hunger Games grossed over $ 408 million in the U.S. alone, aspiring the podium for “catching fire” and the two that come after: Mockingjay Part I and Mockingjay Part II premieres scheduled for November 2014 and 2015 respectively.
In a post-apocalyptic world and evil, a cruel government has come to power: the Capitol. The Hunger Games are an annual televised event in which randomly selected a boy and a girl between 12 and 18 years for each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol to make them compete. There are no rules, but only one of them can survive. You either die or reach the glory of fame and wealth as a gladiatorial combat is involved.
This second installment puts Katniss Everdeen (who gives life to the newly Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence ) and Peeta Mellark ( Josh Hutcherson ) to embark on the “Victory Tour” as a rebellion starts to take shape. President Snow ( Donald Sutherland ), is organizing the 75 Hunger Games, Panem that will change forever.
Suzanne Collins again is involved in writing the script for this new adaptation of her work, this time directed by Francis Lawrence who previously produced series like Reyes and Touch and directed Constantine , I Am Legend and Water for Elephants .
