GAME MODES
StreetSmash – Move your character token around and try to knock other tokens off the map. You can find more opponents by using StreetPass. Enemy tokens move automatically–all combatants will try to knock each other off the map. You’ll receive gold for each opponent you knock over the edge! However, if your token gets knocked off, the game ends.
Solo – In Classic mode on the Nintendo 3DS, players choose different paths as they proceed along a map and fight against waiting CPU opponents. There are many different kinds of matches, including one-on-one fights, team battles with CPU players both aiding and attacking you, matches where you must defeat opponents one after another or in groups, and even more. When you win a match, you will receive a reward. Besides trophies and gold, you can also receive custom parts.
Smash Run – Smash Run is a 3DS-exclusive mode–a 4-player, labyrinth-exploring, boost-collecting battle game. First, the fighters enter a vast playing field. There’s a 5-minute time limit! During these 5 minutes you’ll explore the field, battle enemies, and collect boosts to power up. There are 6 types of boosts – Speed, Jump, Attack, Special, Arms and Defense. When the time limit is up, you’ll carry the boosts you collected into battle.
Online Smash – You can choose For Fun or For Glory when playing With Anyone online. For Fun stages are selected randomly from all stages except Final Destination. All items will appear. Only the number of matches you win will be recorded. Only Final Destination stages are used in For Glory. Final Destination stages are flat stages with no platforms either above or below. Items will not appear. All battle stats, including the number of losses, will be recorded. Almost all stages have a Final Destination version.
