RUMOR: SteamOS will be locked in Windows 10
After several reports in some specialized sites, the rumor that Windows 10 will feature new rules in their UEFI Secure Boot emerged. This high-security feature in Windows 8 or earlier allowed off the Safe Boot option, which gives the possibility to alternate the use of other operating systems on the same PC.
Apparently, the option to disable the UEFI Secure Boot, no longer be present in Windows 10 after a conference of Microsoft without mentioning that feature as part of the new hardware requirements for the next OS.
According to reports, this decision could be related to the launch of SteamOS and Steam Machine. Absent the ability to turn off Secure Boot, it is more likely that you can not start Windows 10 computers Steam and SteamOS can not install on a PC with Windows 10.
Although not many players who come to these characteristics, it is clear that these movements correspond to practices of commercial competition between companies and also represent an option for consumers unless, that is, a limitation.
We will be watching the confirmation or refutation of this and other rumors about Windows 10 and SteamOS.
