The Last of Us sweeps DICE awards and Win game of the Year
As was to be expected after the critical and commercial reception, as well as the 13 nominations that had, The Last of Us , a PlayStation 3 exclusive developed by Naughty Dog, was the big winner on the night of February 6, 2014 in Las Vegas, to be in 10 categories in the DICE awards, organized by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, including Game of the Year.
Plants Vs Zombies 2 won Game of the Year Mobile and Casual Game of the Year, while BioShock: Infinite Action game of the year and Achievement pocketed by original music.
So, maybe the big disappointment was Grand Theft Auto V , nominated for 7 awards, of which only took 1: Achievement engineered gameplay.
It should be noted that during the week also note that Neil Druckmann, writer and director of The Last of Us , was recognized by the Writers Guild of America for Outstanding Achievement in Screenwriting for video game, and the title itself, has more than 60 awards. Below, the full list of winners:
