Under Game Developers Conference, Crytek announced an update to its popular game engine, now under the name of CryEngine V. The company has already made available to developers this tool, which now has a whole new business model.
CryEngine V will now have a business model “pay what you want” (pay what you want), to cope with the Unreal Engine, Unity and Lumberyard, engines that are available to developers for free.
“CryEngine V arrives today with a business model ‘Pay What You Want’, which gives developers full access to all parts of the assembly of the motor and the complete source engine for a price of your choice code without obligation to pay royalties or additional service charges, “said the company.
Those who choose to contribute to acquire CryEngine V, may allocate up to 70% of the sum to the fund Indie Development of Crytek, program manager provide support to promising independent projects worldwide.
